Inter-house Football Tournament 2021/2022

Gn. AEC's 2021-2022 inter-house football tournament started on 1st November 2021. Exciting matches were fiercely played among houses and a spectacular crowd came along to support their teams throughout the tournament. The PTA also organised and held a fundraising project near the playing field, selling snacks to spectators who came by.


Match 1: Imad vs Ameen

The first match took place in the early morning of November 1st. Imad house took the first win of the tournament with a score of 3-0 with man of the match being awarded to Mohamed Luth Agis of Imad. The eventful Match kicked off with a goal scored by Mohamed Wilhan Ibrahim of Ameen house into their own goal, giving Imad house the first goal of the tournament. The intense first matchup continued with Shaihaan Mohamed and Mohamed Riyaan Riyaaz scoring two more goals respectively for Imad, getting them the first win. Imad prevailed over Ameen with a final score of 3-0, while the players of the Ameen team came back with even more vigor for their match against Muzaffar.


Match 2: Shaniviraza vs Muzaffar

The competitive face-off between Shaniviraza and Muzaffar took place that same day and ended with Shaniviraza succeeding over Muzaffar with a total score of 2-0. Both teams played fiercely with great team spirit, with Mohamed Aain Rasheed and Mohamed Iyash Ahmed both scoring two goals for Shaniviraza leading to their spectacular victory. Furthermore, Abdullah Basithu from Shaniviraza team took home the title of man of the match. Thus began their winning streak that did not end until much later in the tournament. This gave rise to the hope that Shaniviraza just might take Muzaffar house's two year champion title if these two teams reached the finals, which they eventually did.


Match 3: Imad vs Shaniviraza

Shaniviraza ambitiously took their second win in their match against Imad with a score of 2-0. Despite the early morning heat and tiredness, both teams played to the best of their abilities and Abdullah Nazvan Nadheem of Shaniviraza scored their first goal early on in the match. Their second goal was scored by man of the match Ali Ansaar Ahmed, from an impressive corner shot. What made this goal even more significant is that it was scored exactly three minutes before the end of the match! Imad took their first loss here but vowed to come back stronger in their match against Muzaffar to be held on 5th of November, while Shaniviraza became the first of the four teams to reach the finals with their consecutive two wins.


Match 4: Ameen vs Muzaffar


Muzaffar triumphed over Ameen starting from the first five minutes of the match with Abdullah Rakin Ahmed scoring a goal four minutes in and just a minute afterwards Mohamed Aidh Abdulla scored their second goal. He managed to score a third goal before the half-time and just after half-time, Ibrahim Zidh scored for Muzaffar again. Nearer towards the end of the second half, the man of the match, Muzaffar team player, Ahmed Amaan Jamsheed scored another two goals, ending the game 6-0 with Muzaffar house being the lead winners. Ameen house played one last match against Shaniviraaza house after their elimination that took place on 5th November 2021.


Match 5: Imad vs Muzaffaru

It was yet another intense match as Muzaffar scored the first two goals, both of which were scored by the man of the match Mohamed Aidh Abdulla. Imad house also scored two goals, one by Ahmed Maaish and the other one by Mohamed Riyaan Riyaz. It was a fiercely intense match as both teams were tied with two goals until Mohamed Dhaain Rasheed from Muzaffar scored their third goal less than ten minutes before the end of the match, securing their win. Muzaffar house has worked its way up to the finals once again and Imad house was eliminated from the tournament. Imad house goalkeeper Hussain Yaaseen spoke about the match and with spirit, he mentioned their comeback in next year's tournament. He said although they did not make it to the finals, their efforts were one to remember and that his teammates played well.


Match 6: Ameen vs Shaniviraza

Despite Ameen house's defeat in their previous two matches, they played a splendid final game winning with a score of 2-1 with one goal ahead of Shaniviraaza house, ending its winning streak. While Shaniviraza had been behind by two goals, Mohamed Iyash Ahmed impressively managed to land a goal through a free kick right before the conclusion of the match. Although they could not play in the final match, Ameen house was pleased to have given their all and the man of the match, Ibrahim Ibaan Fayaz described their performance in the match as wholehearted and well done. He could not have described the match better as his team played their final match most remarkably and the players showed pure determination throughout the entire game. Ibaan went on to compliment his teammates' efforts and shared that the two goals that he scored could not have been done without their effort. He ended his talk with the hope that Ameen house will emerge victorious in the next tournament.
